Das Basisglas, mit dem alles beginnt.

Das sogenannte Basisglas ist die Basis aller von uns erzeugten Glasprodukte.

Es handelt sich dabei um Flachglas welches im sogenannten Floatprozess (daher auch der Name Floatglas) hergestellt wird.

Verbund – Sicherheitsglas

Überkopf – / Absturzsichernde Verglasungen
Verbund-Sicherheitsglas (VSG) ist eine spezielle Form eines Verbundglases, die gesetzlichen Mindestanforderungen entspricht. Sie besteht aus mindestens zwei Scheiben und einer Zwischenschicht aus reißfester Polyvinylbutyral-Folie (PVB; Foliendicke ab 0,38 mm). VSG gibt es je nach Anforderung in unterschiedlichen
Kombinationen mit Floatglas, Einscheiben- Sicherheitsglas und Teilvorgespanntem Glas, die die Vorteile der unterschiedlichen Glasarten miteinander kombinieren. In der Architektur ist Verbund-Sicherheitsglas bei Überkopfverglasungen, Glasdächern, Brüstungsverglasung (absturzsichernde Verglasung) und begehbarem Glas vorgeschrieben. Hier erhält VSG seine hohe Sicherheit im Allgemeinen durch die reißfeste PVB-Schicht und deren Haftwirkung: Bei einer mechanischen Überlastung (z. B. Schlag oder Stoß) bricht das Glas zwar, aber die Bruchstücke haften an der PVB-Folie. Dadurch besteht eine Resttragfähigkeit, die Splitterbindung verringert gleichzeitig die Verletzungsgefahr. Verbund-Sicherheitsglas
kann je nach seinem Aufbau splitterbindend, durchwurfhemmend, durchbruchhemmend, durchschusshemmend oder sprengwirkungshemmend sein.
